Why We Take the Backroads
(and always bring the dogs)
We have always loved to travel, but over the years, our travel has changed quite a bit. There was a time when we would catch flights to warm places like Puerto Rico, Aruba, and the Bahamas, but we weren't able to fit our dogs under the airplane seats. Fortunately for us, we had great parents who would gladly host grand-dog vacations filled with walks, treats, and snuggles. But, as many of you have experienced, life changes. We moved, changed jobs, and eventually, new pups found their way into our hearts. We changed our adventures too, and our travels became more about heading down the backroads, and of course, always bringing the dogs.

How we traveled had changed, but not in a bad way. In fact, having the Frenchies along meant that we experienced many things through the eyes and ears of two squished faces. We picked destinations that welcomed muddy paws, lots of sniffs, and loud snorts. We planned stops along the way for bathroom breaks, quick snacks, and short walks. We sought out destinations that allowed pets on trails, beaches, and in restaurants.

And that's how Bulldogs & Backroads began. It's road trips. It's us with our two French bulldogs. It's finding what works and what doesn't. It is real life. Now, we want to share these experiences with you. Sometimes it's the most amazing sunrises and beautiful vistas one could imagine. But sometimes, it's not. Sometimes it's turning the truck around and making new plans. Other times, it's taking a different trail or finding a different rest stop. But that's okay. Life is about the journey.
So, join us as we hit the backroads...
